A presentation entitled “Distributed Environmental Monitoring and Remote Autonomous Sensor Platforms, Separating Fact from Fiction” was given by Prof Diamond at a Symposium organized by Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES) at their headquarters in Sao Paulo.

Prof. Diamond said:

“working with South American researchers has opened up new opportunities and ideas that would otherwise never have happened.  Perhaps most interesting is to learn of the different societal issues and potential applications for technologies we are developing in the NCSR.  Within a short time, exchanges of faculty staff and young researchers has led to friendships and cooperations that will without doubt continue for many years to come”.

Further presentations were made to CEDAE – State Company for Water and Sewage and Petro Bras Research, Rio de Janeiro.
