Movember – 29th November 2012

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Ireland and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer. This year the NCSR got involved with the help of some of our researchers with the ability to grow facial hair. A number of guys from NCSR and other research units agreed to volunteer to be Mo-dels for a day by sporting a mo in aid of this great cause. The event culminated in a coffee morning that took place in the foyer of the Research and Engineering building on Thursday 29th November. A great number of people attended the coffee morning and €608.66 was raised. An additional €1076.34 was raised in online donations so in total €1685 was raised for this great cause.
